Hi, Does anyone know where I can get decent models of Star Wars ships, I am just learning about composting models into a shot and as a big fan I would like to use these.
John, look for the Star Pack on VideoCopilot.net (make certain that you download the second file with the JPEG textures Hitfilm wants). Also scifi3d.com tf3dm.com and Turbosquid.com. Scifi3d, in my opinion, has the best free Star Wars models. Good Imperial ships are easier to find than Rebels. Force Awakens models are hard to find.
Following along on an After Effects tutorial this afternoon and the author mentioned a models thread on Facepunch?? so I headed over for a look. After browsing for 1-15 minutes it looks like a great place to get your hands on models AND info from the tribe!https://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1524340
@GrayMotion good find! However you're the second "Star Wars Models" thread today, so I merged you with the first one.
@Triem32 was taking about this link. There are very good.
when you say saber, do you mean the blade, the handle or bolth? The VideoCopilot one has handles, and Hitfilm Pro has a blade thing, if you are in express you can find a good preset on the Preset Marketplace for any blade and a really cool one for kylo ren's blade.
Just wanted to point out that that Facepunch thread appears to be for models ripped from Lucasarts games, which are not legal for you to use except where specifically indicated by the game's EULA.
