I have seen the Vasquez Rocks used in dozens of western shows/movies from the 50s and 60s too. Although, I must admit, I did spot them in the Star Trek reboot. Pretty clever to use them as an entire landscape for Vulcan.

Fun fact: Vasquez Rock Park is only about an hour's drive from San Dimas. EXCELLENT! air guitar
I took a drive out there last time I was in LA, but the park was closed for some reason. I still managed to get a picture of the peak itself from the roadside.

Vasquez Rocks is closed right now. The road is out after a landslide last week.
San Dimas? I shoot for your City Station. Time Warner channel 3.

Nah, this was a couple of years ago. And I live in San Jose; I just took a trip to San Dimas to see if it was anything like it was in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. (It's not. They filmed it in Arizona.)
