HitFilm exiting during use

While in regular use on a laptop with an i7 processor, 8 GB of Ram, and a GeForce 540m processor, Hitfilm suddenly quits. The task is not intensive, and it doesn't crash and become unresponsive. The window simply vanishes. Please help.

What OS are you running?
Can you please visit this page to make sure you have the latest drivers for your GPU: http://www.geforce.com/drivers
Are you typically editing video footage when this occurs, or working with effects created in HitFilm? -
I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. It occurs when working on composite shots, but I haven't tested it too see if it also happens when editing.
I will try downloading the latest drivers. -
There are several reasons you maybe seeing this reaction. What antivirus application are you using? It would also be helpful to see your crash report. It would also help to know which codec you are using? Could you submit a ticket please? That way we can ask you further questions since each system is so different.

A. I am using Microsoft Security Essentials
B. There is no crash report. One moment everything is going perfectly, the next moment, the hitfilm window vanishes as if by magic
C. I dont know what codec I'm using. How do I find out? -
mine does the same thing, but only recently.. like.. with-in the last month or so.

It depends on your system but there was a graphics card update that was released that might help with this type of issue. Without knowing what graphics card you have, this is the previous version that does work.

Hi,
Is this problem still happening for you?
Thanks,

I have not yet downloaded the driver.

After checking my update logs, I recently did an update to the newest Catalyst driver (running a Radeon card), didn't even dawn on me that might be the problem..
Mu driver updated in April and it was after the hitfilm update June 17, 2014, that it started crashing out... something probably conflicting somewhere in there... hmmm... i will need to delve
