Audio on hitfilm is blank but the audio is still there

For some reason when i import game footage that I recorded with OBS the audio section of the editor is blank when it would be very "bumpy" so to speak to reflect how much audio is going on, but for some reason it is very blank or there are very small bumps. This just adds inconveniences to the editing process and if anyone knows a solution that would be great, thank you.

    Go to the File Menu at the top left of the interface. Here, select "Options."

    In Options make sure you are in the "General" tab.

    Scroll down to "Audio Waveforms" and set this to "RMS"
