Speed up and slow down issue
I am trying to slow down part of the video. Once I applied the speed effect, the last bits of the video went blank and my guess its because duration of the clip staying the same. So I tried to extend the duration in the composite shot properties and its still showing blank. Any tips to fix this?

This has always been a problem....the speed effect is utterly worthless in HF. Also, not very intuitive.

This problem has been around since the dinosaurs walked through the forest. I don't know why for so many years FXHome did nothing to make it more intuitive. Reversed video is even more problematic to work with.
I kind of get around this problem when I apply the speed effect with on a grade layer. So far I haven't found any other way

I think the Speed effect is kept around as-is for compatibility with older HitFilm projects. The best way to adjust clip speed is the Rate Stretch tool
or the Edit Speed/Duration window in the clip’s menu
