Nice one, Terry. Merry Christmas!
Thanks all 3 of you. Much appreciated.
I have a New Year's retrospective video to ring in the New Year scheduled for 6 pm New Year's Eve. I know now I probably should have scheduled it on the day, but I've never done one before and didn't realize it would go into the feed so quick. @DafterThings I apologize to you because I went to pin an explanation thinking it would go above your post, but instead it seems to have eaten it instead.
Here's the link for Friday at 6 pm CST (Midnite in the UK...I think 🤔 😂)
My entry in the ActionVFX Inferno contest. Edited and comped in Hitfilm Pro (all without timeline markers) 😆
A recent project for the learning experience:
The inferno is a strong entry.
I think your cardboard bot is really cute!
The vortex looks for Doctor Who than Stargate to me, but it's really nice and glowy. Is this based off the Hitfilm particle sim (in which case you did a great job setting up your particle textures!), or is it blender work?
@Triem23 Oh, I should have specified that. It is a Kev Binge Blender tutorial result rendered as PNG sequence and assembled in Hitfilm. The CardBdBot is from a tutorial series by SouthernShotty in Blender also and rendered in with a shadow catcher comped in Hitfilm. I am trying to figure out a reflection plane with little success with a transparent background. I thik I may have to experiment with the settings I used for a flame with transparency in the compositor.
So, it's been a while since I have done anything worthwhile. Been retopoing a model I had made for a few years ago. Here is a little work in progress of my refit:
Last couple of weeks been working with my Seaview model a bit since I finished the refit. Trying out a Patreon texture Markom3D recently posted, Here is a quick test I ran today, but I messed up with the Aqua addon Caustic light.
All model work done in Blender, exported as PNG sequence and compiled in Hitfilm Pro 2021
Sweet! Looking forward to the final version!
