Hitfilm flashes black, stops displaying video
Like many other users, the first part of the video is fine, then a part of it is flickering black, and finally it's all black.
This issue was in Trimmer/Viewer and Export. Using Proxies, the issue disappears in Trimmer/Viewer, but persists in export.
I am using Hitfilm 2012.2
My PC is Asus Vivobook X510UF
with Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8550U CPU
running Windows 10 21H1 on 16GB memory
the video file is 1.07GB, H.264 encoded, 720p30
I didn't have this issue with previous versions of HitfilmExpress, even though I worked on much larger 1080p60 files.

@doom7 And your GPU?
Make sure your GPU drivers are updated from the manufacturer and not Microsoft updates, which can actually downgrade your drivers.
Also, please open a ticket directly with FXHome support:

nVidia GeForce MX130 and Intel UHD Graphics 620.
nVidia drivers are from nVidia, Intel drivers are from Microsoft, but newer version than available from manufacturer website -
Hi,
I had a similar problem in HF 2021.1.
I increased virtual memory and it works fine.
Regards.

How do you increase virtual memory in HF?
-
Sorry, just figured out that it's a system settings. I have 5GB virtual memory, in addition to 16 real memory. Is that not enough?

This is still a problem... I know I am still getting it.

This usually happens for one of 5 reasons:
- You are under-spec for HitFilm. Please list your specs: CPU, GPU, RAM, OS, Manufacturer
- You are using Windows 11 - Win 11 is not yet supported, and sometimes causes strange issues.
- Your GPU drivers are out of date. Check out this guide to update them: https://fxhome.com/faq/how-do-i-update-graphics-drivers
- You’re using a broken version of HitFilm. Make sure you have the 2022.3 (PATCH) update released in January. This resolves most issues people were having.
- If you have dual monitors, please let us know… there may be an issue related to that.
