Vídeo quality after effect transition cross dissolve on 2021.2

Hello everyone,

I'm new here because I'm a really happy user/customer of Hitfilm express, never had any issue in pass till this new version. I notice that the quality of the vídeo after doing an effect/transition/dissolve/cross dissolve goes really pixelized and sometimes a few seconds latter does it again. I uninstall and install 2021.1 and tried the same vídeos em everything is great. This is just a "heads up" if you can fix the issue/bug on this effect because I didn't notice on the others.

Here is a little example after the effect (ignore the zoom in on the video and focus on the quality) https://youtu.be/ERYWNsqvD3s?t=18 and a few seconds latter the quality drops again https://youtu.be/ERYWNsqvD3s?t=30

Thank you all for your great work.

Technically speaking a cross dissolve should NOT degrade anything, what it should do is fade out the outgoing clip and fade in the incoming clip, but do so at the edit point for both clips.

What is your source footage, as in quality, how are you editing this as far as timeline setup (should be the same as your footage, all should be the same, ideally).

Specs to your PC, that is, CPU, GPU, memory, OS etc. I ran 2021.1 and never noticed this with my PC, which is in some cases bouncing along at the bottom of the specs.

Have you transcoded any of the footage from either H.264/265 to something else, like Cineform some other edit friendly codec? If not that could be part of the issue.

I have no clue about the technical part of the problem, but I uninstall and install 2021.1 again and everything works fine with the same vídeo footage, installing again the 2021.2 the problem happens again and no I didn't transcoded, doing videos everyday from January 2021 and never happened this till 2021.2 version.

The quality of the footage is 1080p 60FPS, 50MBps and my specs are:

    Operating System - Windows 10 Home 64-bit

    CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 5600X

    RAM - 32,0GB Dual-Channel 1066MHz (16-15-15-36)

    Motherboard - B550 GAMING PLUS (MS-7C56) (AM4)

Graphics - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (MSI)

    Storage - 232GB Samsung SSD 750 EVO 250GB

    Thank you for replying.

@boraljogar To be honest, I am having a hard time seeing the issue in the YouTube video. But I would suggest contacting support directly since your specs look good. https://fxhome.com/questions/submit

In the meantime, make sure your drivers are updated, especially the GPU from NVidia. Microsoft updates can sometimes downgrade drivers.
