Useful for exporting Blender scenes or using certain Action VFX elements as well as other compositing tasks.

Multiple passes for compositing VFX.

Totally agree, open exr that would be nice. AE has that. I am now learning nuke and realizing the power of EXR files.
-
Since ActionVFX EXR elements are multi-layer, how can I not agree?
-
This is a great Idea @Secretkeys!
-
Yes! I have some 3D EXR sequences that contain depth data for separating the back effect from the front effect that I have not been able to work with effectively. This would be a huge boon.
-
This would be great!

I know this is a year old but in @ZachAlan tutorial today this would have been super useful...... So please we need more votes on this!
-
A much needed feature! With Blender being so popular now, hitfilm could be the go-to software for editing multilayer-exr animation.
-
Same here! Our whole company switched to Blender but we still stick to AE just because of Cryptomatte and EXR multilayer… (although it‘s super slow in AE).
If Hitfilm implements these essential features we will leave the Adobe universe…

Hitfilm needs to have the ability to extract Cryptomatte/exr information to properly composite.
I have been learning Nuke recently and it is powerful when you can extract the info that you need to do. You cant really fake render passes. This is an essential tool.

I've merged both of your EXR/Cryptomatte threads into this one.
Secret, you'll need to up vote this thread. Andersen, you already did, back in 2020.
