Timeline constantly pauses

Is there a setting that allows the timeline to keep playing if I click somewhere else? Every time I click on an effect or media or even change the volume the timeline pauses. I feel it really slows everything down.

This has been one of the long discussed quirks of HitFilm. The only thing you can do about it at this point is to add your vote for this feature in the wishlist thread
