gopro videos only import audio

whenever I import a gopro video on media it only imports audio. I tried coping it to my hard drive and nothing happened. It does this when any gopro video I try to edit and the videos do export to mp4 on my gopro

    Just guessing, but it sounds like your GoPro  video is HEVC/H.265 video. Hitfilm does not support HEVC video. A full text MediaInfo report (free utility) will give us details. Newer GoPro models output HEVC.

    @NormanPCN I can certainly verify my GoPro Hero 6 spits out a lot of h.265 footage in "mp4" wrappers. 

    Mario, if we're right (we are) then you'll need to transcode to a different format. Hitfilm cannot read h.265/HEVC.
