Javert told me I could do this

In a tutorial a little while ago, Javert Valbarr mentioned that when using the pen tool to draw a mask, the path does not necessarily have to be closed I was delighted and thought I'd try drawing over Hokusai's famous wave painting with the Neon Path effect. The animation is only 6 seconds but I looped it out to 1 minute to try some variations of Fluid Distortion and Gleam

@FlickeringLight That's looks very nice! A great use of a tool for something beside what it was originally intended. You should be extremely proud of that. And no one can ever say that Javert doesn't know what he's talking about either.

Great work- a very detailed mask path which matches the intricacies of the original painting. Glad to have helped you get this started!

What Javert said.
As is the changes in distortion and gleam work in a way, since you started with the plain neon, then each loop seems to be a more prevelant distortion/glow/gleam. It adds a little build to it, like the wave is still building in intensity or something.

That looks cool! I've done a little non-closed Neon Path stuff in the past, but nothing this artistic.

Thanks for the nice comments and particular thanks to Javert and Triem23 for the tutorials and tips that help keep me digging into HitFilm's capabilities
