Hitfilm 2022.3 crashes after a few seconds of editing
Hey,
I'm currently having the problem of Hitfilm crashing every few seconds after starting up. Everything works okay for now, but the other second it begins to lag around a lot or just crash. This isn't very fortunate as my span of interest is already pretty short and that just makes it even worse.
All drivers are up to date to my knowledge.
MY specs are:
Ryzen 5 5600G
NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3060 12GB
512GB SSD
16GB of RAM (3200 MHz)
HitFilm is running on the version 2022.3 / 19.2.3.0 , Is activated with the free license and according to HitFilm up to date (Which would be weird if not as i downloaded it yesterday.)
The PC is a prebuilt, going by the name "HP Victus TG02-0302ng".
If there is anything i forgot to Include, feel free to tell me. I need help very quick as i only have 12 more days until i have to be done with the video and it sucks if the program crashes every few seconds. (It crashes without a dump, just ALT + F4 like.)

Edit: I may have found the solution already.
For whatever reason, Hardware decoding was disabled. Now i enabled it and it seems to run just fine.
I'll keep you up to date in case that isn't the solution. -
Hi, I had this issue recently. It started with the most recent graphics driver update on 12/8/2022 for me. I had to go into the Windows Updates and do the 22H2 update and a PCI Bus Update that was in there as well and then update to the Radeon Adrenalin 22.11.2 Recommended (WHQL) driver. Then it worked fine. Hope that helps. Let us know if it does.

@VonDrevon Note that the OP has an NVidia RTX 3060 . . . so AMD drivers are a moot point.

@Stargazer54 Ah, good call. I have been feverishly trying to help people with the AMD bug because I would hate to see it waste four hours of people's time as it did mine 😅

@VonDrevon as a former Mod I've noticed you've been helping spread the word about the AMD drivers and I'm sure the mods appreciate your help. I do. Keep it up!
