How to make a counter like this?
Hello, I am creating a video of a moving map of World War 3 and I want to add counters that I can move with keyframing to simulate army numbers on both sides, the numbers will go from around 100,000-500,000, so very big numbers.
Every tutorial I have found on this topic is either in a different editing software or it only works for small numbers.
Is there any way to do this in Hitfilm Express?
Here is an example; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jm1G2SzXf20&t=24s

The bottom line it is still work. You start out with a strip of numbers and keep duplicating it. The main thing is to decide on timing - how many frames to get from 0 to 9 and so on. The duplicate and adjust the timing accordingly for tens, hundreds, etc.
Perhaps this will help . . .

@Stargazer54 I have seen these tutorials and they are not what I am looking to do, the counter needs to move and bend with the frontline, not stay in one place.

Sorry I didn't understand the question.
If you already have your counter built then put it in another composite shot and apply one of the Warp or Distort effects to it and also use the new comp to adjust and keyframe positioning. Bulge (under the Distort group) might be a good place to start.
