4k monitor interface
Greetings all,
First off congrats to the team on the release of HitFilm 3. I've been a user since version 1 and absolutely love it.
I recently added a 4k monitor to my production rig, and while it is, of course, lovely, the interface for Hitfilm is teeny tiny and not a lot of fun to work with since it doesn't use Windows 8.1 UI scaling.
Any workaround for this, or plans to add UHD support in the future? Obviously this is early days for this kind of thing -- even Adobe just added an "experiemental" double-res UI to Photoshop for 4k displays. Just wondering if anything is planned.
Cheers!

Thanks for the report. There's no immediate plans to support super high definition, but it's something that is only going to become more common over time.
I've logged this in our tracking system so that the devs can take a look and consider what would be required.

Thanks for the reply Simon. Happily it's a multi-monitor system so I can just pop it on another monitor, so no worries

Add me to the list of users who need UHD or 4K menu/interface scaling. Just picked up a top of the line Surface Book i7 Nvidia yadda yadda. Hitfilm processes faster on this mobile computer than it does on my desktop rig!!! Only thing is... I feel like I'm trying to write my name on a grain of rice every time I have to click a button. Even using the stylus, it's not very usable.
Pretty please?

same here. new Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro for Christmas with a display resolution of 3200 x 1800, and the interface for hitfilm express is very small. I've found some workarounds by editing the registry and adding "manifest" files to folders, but app scaling would be nice. With the newer tablets and laptops having ultra high-def monitors, you'll be seeing more and more users having this. It's pretty much unusable. See screenshot.

I have the some problem. Menu font is too small.

Also, for us nearly blind people, allowing us to increase font size, increase clip stamp sizes and, of course, increase the size of tracks vertically as well as horizontally (that can already be done) would really be helpful.
I had a stroke in my right eye two weeks ago and besides now having double vision, I am almost legally blind in both eyes. Besides wearing reading glasses, the ability to enlarge things would be a godsend.

@karma I know there's a way to vertically resize tracks, but I can't remember how! I summon @AxelWilkinson by the Dark Gods of VFX.
-
@karma You can change the track size with the menu arrow at the bottom of the tracks:

@Triem23 - I was busy, so I sent Cedric in my stead. Either that, or he was just faster than me with a response.
-
@AxelWilkinson either way, question answered :-) don't know why I keep forgetting where that's put!
-
@AxelWilkinson The tracksize thing comes up enough that something should be in the user guide on this. A couple of sentences and a graphic. Then answers via forum or email ticket can link to the manual which might actually get someone to look at one other thing in the manual...
Tech support should be the ones writing these things. They are on the front lines. Writing up one paragraph a week and within a year you have great documentation without anyone actually sitting down and writing a manual.
One opinionated man's opinion. FWIW

Its 2016 now, and Hitfilm 4 is out.... Can you guys please fix this issue?
-
Hello,
I wanted to ask if there is any new information. We have 2019 now, first post under the topic was in 2014. I just got the latest version but it is still not fixed. I can skale my screen on 1920x1080 but I would love to see it perfectly working with the 4K resolution. -
@Creeden If you are using the latest version of HitFilm, it should just work now. What is it that is not working for you?
-
@CedricBonnier I solved it somehow. Thank you for your time.
Reinstalled it.
