Hello community,

today I tried rendering a new project in the free version of Hitfilm, and I have noticed weird fragments in my audio. It sounds really distorted, like something is clipping. (There is a Zip noise and the whole audio gets reduced by -20dB for a second). If I listen to the Audio in HitFilm Viewer it sounds fine.

The Audio I used was:

Mastered at -0.9 dB FS (I attached a picture for more Info)

.WAV file 24 Bit depth

Resampling: 512-point sinc (HQ)

44.1 Hz sample rate

I used the Following HitFilm preset:

PC:

CPU - AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core Processor 4 GHz

GPU - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti

OS - Windows 10

Ram - 16

Type - 64 Bit

everything is up to date

I have already tried lowering/raising the Volume

Lowering the Input of my Limiter (in my DAW) from +6 dB to +3.5dB

Diffrent settings in HitFilm (I am not that great at Video Editing 😐️)

If someone can help me, I would really appreciate it!

@plasticbeats Maybe I missed it, but . . . any reason you changed the default audio bitrate to 192 Kbps? The default for the YouTube 1080P HD preset should be 384 Kbps.

Also, you might want to make sure your audio drivers are up to date (from the manufacturer). Microsoft Windows updates can sometimes downgrade drivers.

    Thank you for answering!

I owned the free version of HitFilm, which caps out at 192 Kbps. I wasn't quite sure how this affects a MP4 File (I'm not that great with video stuff) and thought it was normal. I have since then switched to Filmora 11 and it works great with higher Bits!
