I cannot center text and went through all discussions here?
Boy am I missing something. I chose the "A" for text tool and typed. I then highlighted the text. Then went to the text box next to history and see character and paragraph. Centered was already chosen but my text is not centered. The goose is apparently on the loose cause I just can't figure out such an easy thing here LOL! Help this goose can't swim!

Make sure all the text is highlighted, then hit the center button even if it’s already pressed. This will clear any other formatting. Your text will center within the text box, but it will not center your text box within the video frame.
To center the text box itself, you need to use the layout panel:

@Randyrhoads3 Sure thing! The lack of positioning features in HitFilm was one of my biggest gripes with the software before the Layout panel was added, so I understand the feeling 😂

As an aside. All text can be centered horizontally, but usually not vertically. If you scroll through your fonts you will find some that have empty space at the top or bottom of the text box. When this is the case the text will not look perfectly centered, you can try to fix it manually by adjusting the anchor point or something but its eyeballing it. Some fonts take up the entire text box, those can be perfectly centered vertically.
