Flicker Flash Splutter MOV Films
Hello
I have inherited several hundred MOV films recorded in the early 1970s. The originals were recorded with 8 mm cameras and then I recently had them converted in the transfer house to MOV. One third of the reels are compromised with these flickers. Is there a method to remove them? a software application that is able to fix this?
Here is the sample to illustrate.

Unless there is a brand new AI application to handle this, I am unaware of any fully automatic ways to remove this type of flicker. It would typically have to be done per-frame. You can actually see this type of problem on large budget motion pictures dealing with archive footage or when dealing with camera flashes on rolling shutters.

How is this fix achieved using the per frame method? Thanks!

Color correction filter of choice. Maybe brightness/contrast is a good start. You'd have the values at 0, then activate keyframing to adjust the values on the "flash frames," returning to 0 on normal frames. You'd want to set your keyframes to "Constant" so the values snap to the new settings rather than ramp.

Youtube tutorial from DaVinci Resolve Studio version
This is a video with flickering removed.
I'm a beginner in using this program, so I can't fine-tune the effect.
I couldn't do it.
There was still a flicker left on my face.

@Dimipapa I've never managed to successfully remove flicker with Neat Video. Also, as a third party plug in, it would require a Pro tier perpetual license or subscription or legacy Hitfilm Pro.

Maybe not, but if its not a cost thing, it looks like a good option, and I've heard others glow about it.
