What do you recommend as the audio format for HitFlim?

I was using a different audio editing program, and I am going to use that audio in HitFlim Express. What audio format do you recommend for better sound quality? Its a voiceover, if that matters.

.wav is usually the easiest to work with.

It is worth mentioning that Hitfilm transcodes all audio to an internal format on import. Even PCM WAV.

When you import video or audio files, you see the conforming audio status indicator. That is what/when they do this transcode.
