I cannot find the free license to get started
I keep getting sent round and round in circles. Go to this page to get your free license. Then it takes me to the page to buy the software for $19. I just want to try it. I lower it to zero and get a frown and it asks me to download it again for the 6th time.... over and over again. A mind numbing loop. Help?

You should just need to enter an email address. Use the same one you used to create the forum account.
When you first run Hitfilm and it asks you to activate you will just enter the email address used to download. That will register you.

@JoelandKathy Try going to https://fxhome.com/account. It will show that you have a HitFilm Express licence if you completed the registration step correctly. If you did, then all you have to do is install HitFilm on your computer and login with that account.
Otherwise, go tomthe pay-what-you-want page and set the slider to zero. Hit download. Sign into your account if you haven't already and fill out any additional information it asks you for. Then hit the "Send Me The Express Download” button, which should complete your order. Download and install Express if you haven't already and sign in with your account info.
