HitFilm crashing on media Import

hello my hitfilm also has an issue like this it keeps crashing when i try to import "media"
it dosent leave a message or anything it just freezes and stops then shuts down
i can import anything else except "media"
this started a few minutes ago
ive restarted my laptop my HitFilm and even tried to open a new project but nothing works
i can edit the clips and everything fine though, only problem is the import media bug
my laptop specs and model: asus tuf a15, ryzen 7 4800h 16 GB of RAM gtx 1660 ti 6gb 512 gb ssd 144hz

Hi @Dewaeyeet I’ve moved your comment to its own Thread since the last one was about 6 months old and your issue appears different to me at least. Which version of HitFilm are you on?

@Dewaeyeet Kind of confused on your specs. Surely you have more than 6 GB of ram? At the very least you would have to have 8 GB. You sure you didn't mean -> gtx 1660 ti 16gb 512 gb ssd 144hz?

i dont remember what exactly happenend but i let my laptop run out of charge re opened it and it suddenly worked.
it happened again but this issue only happens when the import opens on the downloads file
everything else is fine
