New to hitfilm - cannot get my first project started

trying to start my first project with hitfilm, but when I hit the open button, all i get is the first of the project settings panels

any advice appreciated

Thanks! I would mention for the benefit of any tech dummies like me out there, what I missed out was pressing "OK" on the first project settings panel ;)
