That's very nicely put together. Only nit is the last Shockwave "pops" out of existence at the end. Just give that an opacity fade for a few more frames and that'll be great. The current fade is a bit short imho.
I appreciate you didn't just straightcopy a jump sequence from existing media, but combined several effects to make it your own. I see a bubble of warped space moving in then the energy discharge as the ship emerges from the bubble into realspace.

Thank you for the analysis, Triem23! This is exactly the kind of feedback I love the community for.
I had made the shockwave much more subtle at first, now its become so dominant it seems to break off abruptly. That definitely needs to be corrected. The distortion effect at the end also needs to be adjusted, as it counteracts the expansion of the shockwave.
In the preview, the timing is always a bit difficult to estimate.

Yeah, but I just watched it again and think this is really a nicely done jump. Again, it's not just copying some other property's look, it's a really unique thing. I really don't think I've seen a warp jump styled like yours before, and it's got some sweet elements.
I feel like you took a couple of tricks from a Christmas snow globe tutorial @TomCowles did. The transition between the warping stars to the Sphere layer element, to be exact.

I am glad that the look has its own character. As a basis I used the mathematical models of Alcubierre.
Thanks for the hint! I'll definitely have to check out Tom's tutorials. (https://www.youtube.com/c/TomCowles/videos)
I've included a screenshot of the post. The wobbling light effects are light flares with a distort filter, in front of and behind the sphere.

A few experiments later ...

And the final version.

@LordPaladin Very nicely done, indeed!

I like it!

Excellent!
-
Very cool!!
-
It's very nice, although personally the lightening looks a bit stock and thick.
-
Many thanks!
-
Thanks a lot!

Thanks for the feedback! You are right, the flashes are stock content. The thickness is caused by the distortion effect - I'll fix it in the next step. Also, I will then animate the lighting by myself.

I tried to implement some of your suggestions! Thank you!

Your stuff is also awesome!
