HI all is this possible to do in hitfilm express , i assume its just multiple layers duplicated?
Look at the "Echo" or "Motion Trails" effects in the "Temporal" group.
Thanks will do..
awesome i found this tutorial.. should do the trick
If your subject is isolated, even duplicating and shifting on the timeline would do the trick, though this could quickly get messy
@premiere_studios Yeah, but since motion trails and echo both read and overlay frame data, why go through the trouble of having to manually overlap and adjust opacity for several layers when there's a nice filter to do the hard work for you?
This is my result so far.. not so what i expected, hmm..
Nailed it.. (hiphop skeleton)
@Triem23, Point made, (and accepted) however echo and motion trails effects take a REEAAALLLYY long time to render in the viewer and export
You did it @iamkhanproductions!
@premiere_studios I would imagine layering ten offset copies of a clip and tuning their opacity/blend modes by hand would have a similar performance hit. One would have to run a comparison.
Ok, I've actually done this by hand, often, in the before times, in the long-long ago before we had dedicated effects to do this (Hitfilm has at least five effects or workflows to build motion trails - Echo, Motion Trails, Clone, Particle Sim, manual layering) I'll take the Effects. I can always Pre-render if I need to further comp the trails.
@Triem23 Yeah sounds about right
