Render crash disappeared without hardware decoding

Hi all,

After trying to figure why Hitfilm Pro 16 kept crashing during export, I disabled "Use hardware decoding if available" in options and now I have two interesting side-effects:

  • no more crashes 😀
  • render time greatly reduced 😅

I must admit I have very limited specs (Intel I7-6500, 16GB Ram, No dedicated GPU)

I wonder if anyone else experienced the same (and hope it helps other people facing rendering errors)

Dimitri

It worked for me. The viewer displayed a video with a bug, as if the video was sliced and reorganized (only in the viewer, not in the treamer).

Could it be possible that it has to do with integrated GPUs? I have a laptop with Ryzen 5 3500U, AMD Radeon Vega 8 Graphics.
