I am working on an animated logo. I have png image and would like to give it a 3 dimensional look (add thickness) and then spin it in 3 dimensions (x,y,z). How this could be done in HF?
@gerard100 Hitfilm is capable of using a 'parallax' effect as demonstrated in these 2 tutorials, I believe, but to be able to spin geometry you will need to extrude the logo in something like Blender or another 3D package as I believe Hitfilm can only extrude text.
This won't work for me ad it is not a show stopper as It did not work well in the software I used before. The second part of that question was how to spin that rosette image in 3D.
I am trying to redo this logo using HF:
I have all elements, organized layers and great sound wave from HF FX, but would like to reproduce that spin of the guitar rosette.
@gerard100 I made a quick and dirty video to show you the only thing I know of you can do in Hitfilm without going to a 3D package and getting really complicated. I hope you can follow it. I am not a tutorial maker so it is lacking. I'll edit in a link in a bit after it renders and uploads to Youtube.
Thanks. This is very useful.
@gerard100 Here is the screen cap I did of the process:
I hope it helps you do what you want.
👍️ I'm so glad. I can't explain things nearly as well as Jay and Mike and others with their tutorials. BTW, if you take the time you can get the effect a lot cleaner than I did quickly.
