Problems with keying (green screen) under Edius X

Hey guys,

I recently installed Ignite Pro 5 on my Windows PC under Edius X. I used quite often green screen clips in my last video which I keyed with the "Chroma Key"-Tool. As long as I applied the tool to the clips, it was working fine (i.e. the underlying picture was replaced in the green screen part of my clip).

Problems arose, as soon as I rendered the clip - then the green background in my clip is shown again and the chroma keying "disappeared".

Funny enough: I tried the same with Edius 9 - There everything is working fine. But I need a solution for EdiusX.

My Ignite Pro Dealer here in germany said, that from his point if view it's an error in Ignite Pro. He opened a ticket but since then no feedback.

Does anybody have an idea, what needs to be done?

    Dear both,
I've upgraded the driver and it's working fine. I checked it also with the complete video (where 2/3 were green screen). So you can close the ticket. Thanks for your help. Well done !

@HJH3041 sorry to hear you're having issues. Could you send us the project if possible so we can look into this? We cannot reproduce locally, so it would be good to have something that may help us identify the issues you're having.

    Dear BenNorris Staff,
sorry for answering so late, but I found your answer mail in my Spam-Directory today.
I've prepared an example under EdiusX which shows the problem. As the files are big, I put the corresponding Edius project with all files into my Microsoft cloud. Here is the corresponding link for you:

    https://1drv.ms/u/s!Ap2THOAESwE_gc1x2bXbFi78WHHCLA?e=2hZN7j

For your information: My problem just appears in EdiusX, in Edius 9 everything is working fine. But as I need some of the new features of EdiusX, I need a working version there.

Here are the versions I am using:
    Edius 10.10.7266
    Ignite Chroma Key V2,02
Windows 10 Pro Version 2004 with Windows Feature Experience pack 120.2212.551.0.

Thanks in advance for your help and support. If you need anything else from me (e.g. you want to login to my PC ) please tell me.

    Best regards

    Heinz

    Hi Heniz,

Thanks for taking the time out to upload your Project for us, that's very helpful when it comes to reproducing issues.

I've taken a look at your Project and I am unable to reproduce any issue with the render at all.

I would suggest you check your GPU drivers and make sure they are up to date? It might be specific to certain hardware, can you confirm what GPU you are using?

    Ady

@HJH3041 - I can see that your Nvidia GTX 1060 is running a driver from 2018. Could you please update that to the latest version please, you can do that on the Nvidia website here. (Link goes to external website)

I tested your project with an Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti with the latest driver, so I'm hoping updating should fix the issue for you.

    Thanks,

    Ady

    Dear Ady,
thanks for your help so far. I am happy, that at least you have an idea for the root cause. As I am not a specialist for driver updates etc. , I will ask my local dealer (Thomas Wagner) here in Germany to help me with that. I guess it will take a few days, until he has time. As soon as I have the result, I will inform you. So please leave the ticket open until then. Thanks.

You don't need any special knowledge to install an nvidia gpu driver. You just run the installation package and perhaps reboot when it's done. It's pretty quick/easy.

    Dear Ady and Spresca,
I just installed the new driver version. Thereafter I tested it with the example, that I sent you some days ago. Result: Green screen Keying is now working in that example. So it seems, that you found the root cause.
I will have another test with my last "real" video which was 15 min. long and had 2/3 green screen (tomorrow). Thereafter I will finally tell you, if you can close the ticket.
Thanks for your qualified help and support. Well done.
