PNG loses transparent background when exported

I'm trying to export a frame as a png file with transparent background. When I export it, it gives me a black background. I have made sure that the format is png and jpg. Is there some setting in hitfilm I am missing? (Using pro 16)

JPG and BMP cannot have transparency as far as I know (not the RGB option cannot be changed in those formats) on the export pop up be sure you select RGBA under the Channels setting to enable the PNG and the other formats transparency. Hope this solves your issue and gets you up and running.

problem solved! Thanks. I didn't know to change the channel from RGB to RGBA. I had a typo in my original post. I had changed it to a png and "not" a jpg.
