Wow. Just saw this in my ActionVFX feed. Pretty slick!
Yeah.... that's a wow.
I did a quick test after the live stream.
My jaw is still on the floor.
Yeah, I haven't watched yet - yesterday became bad migraine day - but I've got this cued up. I'll watch it when I'm not looking at my screen at minimum brightness and wearing sunglasses.
@GarethOwen did ActionVFX demo the same tool you used, or do you know of a different AI roto tool?
Mind...........BLOWN! Crazy how easy things are becoming anymore.
Only bad thing about this is in the Free Version, you can only export in SD; Everything else is great!
I'm trying the premium version. It's done some whacky stuff with iPhone 12 footage. I'm going to do a test with my BMPCC6k to see if the issue has to do with software-based image stabalization
I was waiting for this thread to start after getting the avfx newsletter, I wonder if you could still use the free SD version for full scale clips via sd video-upscale-overlay-set matt to fullscale original.
Saw Corridor Digital's take on this, and seemed to be pretty dam good. I have put a link on my VFXLists site if anyone wants to find it.
@alaska_vfx_filmer In this Friday's Film Sensei tutorial, I show how to do exactly that!
@FilmSensei that's superdoop, but I may have to try it before then ;-)
Gave it a go, Had to Blur edges to remove pixilation, so edges are a bit soft.
@alaska_vfx_filmer not surprised. 1080p video is 9x the pixel data of 16:9 SD. I suspect @FilmSensei will also have to process edges.
Besides Blur, look at Matte Choker. Choking the Matte by 2. 5 pixels then adding a 1 pixel blur should be a good start point for clean edges.
@Triem23 It was the same tool that i saw and used, Which is pretty awesome and that was displayed with corridor and actionvfx
