YouTube can't process my video
So I'm using hitfilm Express 13. And I finished my video, exported it to a YouTube 1080p HD.mp4. and then I saved it as a file but when I try to upload it to YouTube it doesn't work, what am I doing wrong? I work so hard for this video, I've struggled with other video editors and such, and now I'm starting to feel hopeless. Please help me. Like the file doesn't look like a video file.

What do you mean the file doesn't look like a video file? Can you play it locally?

@johnnyferalcat It sounds like you saved the project as a Hitfilm project file or .hfp and are trying to upload that to Youtube. The file you exported is what you want to upload. You may find one of these little screen caps I have on hand helpful:
Hope this helps.

So I just have to change it from YouTube to Vimeo 1080p hd instead? And then I can upload it to YouTube???

well when I click on the files, video editor or video player does not come up, in fact it is tells me that a instance of hitfilm is already running,

No, not at all what I intended as a takeaway. My apologies if mislead. The Youtube preset will create an MP4 file that can be uploaded to Youtube. If the file you are trying to play tries to open Hitfilm it is not an export but a project save .hfp file. Check the location where you used the export queue to create your export using the Youtube preset. There will be a video file there.
Using the save option under File on the toolbar is not exporting its saving a project.

So after I export it, what do I do then, how do I add it to my laptop folders so I can upload it on youtube, successfully

When you export it there is a location where it will write the file listed in the line of queue. Go to that location and you can move the file from there to where you want to store it, or even change that location to where you want it before you export. When you go to your Youtube and click upload you can then point it to where the file is on your computer. Maybe this will help:
