No entry point
In the latest version, 16.0.10807.58344, HitFilmExpress was inaccessible for use and gave the following message: The procedure entry point clCreateCommandQueueWithProperties could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\Program Files\FXHOME\HitFilmExpress\Tannen.dll. Please fix.

Fresh install is best bet

@vilager66 Have a look at this thread here which covers this issue:
Unfortunately, I think it is a result of new coding for features in Hitfilm 16 and older machines aren't equipped to handle it, but to be sure that might be the case here, would post your system info; CPU, GPU, RAM and Operating System so some of the knowledgeable fellows from that thread can determine if so.

@vilager66 I think @tddavis meant this thread.
Bottom line here is you can try updating your GPU drivers, but otherwise this error means your GPU does not support either OpenGL 4.0 or OpenCL 1.2, both of which are required for HF 16+. If a driver update doesn't solve the problem, roll back to 15.2 and stay there until you buy your next PC.
@Andy001z if you see anyone else post about an error relating to "Tannen.dll" send them to the linked thread. This is now a known issue. Usually I'll merge whatever thread has been posted with the original Tannen.dll thread. Why didn't I this time? Another 4 steps after typing this I'm too lazy to do.

Tried that

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3470 CPU @ 3.20GHz 3.20 GHz
No GPU
RAM: 8 GB
OS: Windows 10 Pro Version 20H2 Build 19042.685

Guess I'm goin back to HF 15.
-
@vilager66 Yeah, I think that will be the only option. I don't know much about specs and such but 16 increased the Intel GPU to a 5000 that, as I understand things, is somehow embedded in your CPU. I'm willing to bet that particular CPU falls below that mark, Others will correct me if I erred. It might be possible to add a separate GPU if we aren't looking at a laptop here and get you going with 16 but I am not sure about that.
@Triem23 Thanks for fixing my booboo. I somehow mis copied the thread and got just one post out of it. What I get for trying to do important stuff on a phone with...oh, so tiny keys and fat fingers.

If you have an Intel CPU, try installing OpenCL™ Runtimes for Intel® Processors from here: https://software.intel.com/content/www/us/en/develop/articles/opencl-drivers.html#cpu-section
HF 16 had been working fine for me until a Win10 update, today. Then I got this error.
I reinstalled NVidia drivers and HF 16, 15 and back to 16, still no joy!
Reinstalled the OpenCL Runtimes and HF 16 is now running!

@iannichols unfortunately that is not a fix for this issue, but for a similar sounding OpenCL issue. I'm going to close this thread to avoid any confusion with the Tannen.dll issue for future users.
