How to I crop the duration of the video?
I have this one video I'm committing to work on, but there is a issue, since the video is very, very short, there is like like 6 minutes of nothing, and I've tried googling how to crop it but kept getting things that weren't close enough to was I'm looking for. So could someone please give an explanation please. Thank you.

So you've never edited in an NLE before? you might want to go through the HitFilm master classes.
There are a lot of different ways to "cut" your clip.
METHOD A
Impoty it into HitFilm and then head over to the TRIMMER window. Using the little bar under it, go to the start of the part you WANT TO KEEP and hi "i" on your keyboard to set the selection IN POINT then go to the end of the part you want to keep and hit "o" to sen the selection OUT POINT.
Then click the add to timeline button and then, if that's literally all you need to do (no other edits you want to do) "export contents".
METHOD B
Import the clip, add it to the timeline. Move the playhead to the start of the part YOU WANT TO REMOVE. Hit the "x" key on your keyboard. That will change your cursor into a razor blade. Click where oyu want to cut. That will create a split. Hit "v" to return to the selection tool. Click on the part you want to remove to select it and hit your delete key.
If that's literally all you need to do (no other edits you want to do) "export contents".
METHOD C
Import the clip, add it to the timeline. go to the right end of the clip and drag that end until you get to the end of the part you want to keep.
If that's literally all you need to do (no other edits you want to do) "export contents".
METHOD D
Import the clip, add it to the timeline. In the timeline you may notice that part of the timeline is dark grey. Just above the tracks, you can grab the edge of that grey part and bring it back over the clip to the point where the video you want to keep ends. That will set the out point,. You could do the same with the inpoint to the left but the in point is always at the first frame by default.
If that's literally all you need to do (no other edits you want to do) "export in and out area".
Here is a video that kind of shows this ... I created this to explain about timeline durations but you can see me manipulate the in and out areas of the timeline.
