I cannot start the program. It always tells me that a mistake has been made. What should I do?
@Commander_liss You could post your computer specs like CPU, GPU, RAM, OS and free hard drive space and type i.e. SSD or regular HDD. Also, if possible, a screen shot of the error message or at least exact wording would be helpful. With that info a better guess as to the issue can be made.
It is always displayed to me
No one is going to be able to help you unless you provide the information requested (your computer specs)
Ohh yes.. so sorry ..
RAM: 8,00 GB, CPU: 2.30 GHz, intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6200U CPU, 64-Bit-Bestriebssystem, x64 basierter Prozessor
....And your GPU??
I get this same message. It happens when I first try to save my workspace. It does not always happen the same way, sometimes I'm saving the work file, sometimes its when I export.
i7-7700 3.6 ghz 16gb ram
gtx 1060 3gb
In the past I had never lost my work and I have set autosave to save every two minutes. This time I had been working on one for about an hour and went to save the file and got the above displayed message. I did upload the crash report. I lost a lot of work this time for the first time. Now its making me nervous about future work.
GPU: Intel(R) HD Graphics 520
@Commander_liss Thank you for the GPU. You are kind of bouncing on the low end but HF should at least fire up. Have you updated your drivers? Make sure you get your GPU driver from Intel, also. You might find this link useful https://fxhome.com/faqs/view/10 and scroll down to Downloading latest Drivers and follow the link for Intel.
You didn't mention which OS you are on. I assume Win10? Only Win10 & 8 are supported so if you are on Win 7 all bets are off.
@TillyTV My recommendation again is to make sure your drivers are updated and make sure your GPU drivers are from the manufacturer and not from Microsoft updates. As to file management I highly recommend not to depend too much on auto save. You should be manually saving incremental copies of your project as you go. e.g. file001, file002, file003 and so on. If you do have a crash (or just plan make a mistake) you can always fall back to a previous version. In my workflow I always save a version when I have made a major change or about to make a major change. Sometimes my edit projects can have up to 30 or 50 versions before I get to a final.
I am running win 10. I started saving the file just after starting and it hasn't happened again. I seem to running ok when it doesn't crash. Do I need a better GPU or is my cards RAM the limiting factor. Maybe if we get the next stimulus check I will invest in one.
@TillyTV I would say you are good with your card but updating drivers (from the manufacturer) is crucial since HF16 has incorporated some OpenGL changes that affect the GPU. Which version of HF are you on - Express or Pro?
Express, but I paid for the medium package for some additional stuff I thought I could use.
My drivers are up to date, I regularly update directly from Nvidia.
oh it works again, thank you!!! 🤗
Okay ... no, it doesn't work ... when I try to cut a video, it shows me the same ad
@Commander_liss ad? Could you provide a screenshot of this please?
