How important is cinematography in film?
I need to know more about cinematography ? Any one recommend good books and movies.
And also how lighting is more important?
The cinematographer does a major portion of the look design for a film. The choice of lenses and camera position (which may or may not include movement), focus depth and distance, and lighting are all part of that. A really good DP will help the director develop the look, and then work with the art department and design lighting to create that look.
They'll also often work with a colorist to design a show look for use on set to provide a preview of the look, and then work with the finishing colorist to polish the look in the end.
