Get the Underwater look in Hitfilm

I'm working on an upcoming short film titled "Titanic 2022." And, if you haven't heard, they're making a second Titanic scheduled for 2022. So, you can see where I'm going. Anyways, I need a few shots underwater and instead of flooding my house, I thought maybe I should do it in post.
I've tried using the Curves and Tint effects to make it teal, and Heat Distortion to give it the liquid feel. Just wondering if any of you Hitfilm experts have something to say about the matter.
Thanks!

@BenjaminD Having recently played with an underwater action cam in a 14 ft aboveground pool, I noticed that you dont want to forget about floating particulate in the water to help sell it. And also, I found shooting on an overcast day made even the crystal clear water look murky under. It takes a lot.more light yo shoot underwater, so you might adjust your light levels down a tad. There is an AE tutorial out there that might be translatable to Hitfilm.

Why am I leaving a tutorial on starfields in a thread about underwater looks?
Stars are dots in space. So are floating particulates. I guarantee at least one of the techniques in this video can be adapted for particles in water (fractal noise on 3D cards), while others will show possible results with add on features.

@BenjaminD Since you mention stock footage, I checked and ProductionCrate does have some paid particulate loops on this page as well as bubbles:
But making your own is the cheaper option.

Thanks, @tddavis! Does anyone have ideas on the particles? (I just have the PWYW - VFX Artist so far, so links to stock would be nice!)

Thanks guys, really! For some reason Safari wouldn't open the FootageCrate link, but yes, I might be able to create my own using the star field preset in fractal noise.

Made this a while ago, I did try to utilize particles as well. Aside from visual effects i think sound helps a lot.

@Dimipapa, that honestly looks super sweet. Thanks for the advice, I found a few SFX from Freesound and am currently working on the particles.
