Hi, I'm Stine and from Denmark.
Self-taught in hitfilm with lots of help from a friend and youtube tutorials. I started learning it a few years ago - I became interested in it after watching let's plays. Long story short, I started watching a smaller channel, became friends with the guy behind it. I wanted to help him grow so I started an Instagram fanpage, and with that I learned how to make small clips of his videos. About a year after that I edited my first let's play for the channel, and a while ago my friend and I became equal partners. I'm the main editor for the channel, Scarabic Enterprises.
Channel is still small, but we're working on it.
Editing is VERY time-consuming, but I love it and have become very skilled in the craft. I have my own channel as well, but I spend way more time on Scarabic Enterprises, which is kinda funny, because my channel has a larger following.
Anyways, besides editing I like doing ceramics, painting, gaming, cooking, gardening. This is my first post here, and I hope to spend more time here in the discussion, helping people and posting stuff to get some feedback on :)

Hi, I am Nuwanda from Hamburg/Germany.
I joined FXhome back in 2011 using Vision Lab as being the predecessor of Hitfilm.
Being fascinated ever since of special effects in movies, Hitfilm and this forum is alway my save place to be.
In 2017 I started making music having the focus on the genres synthwave & retrowave.
If you're interested in my work I would be pleased if you give it a listen here:
Speaking again of Hitfilm I don't use it on a regular basis but from time to time with great delight.
(HF helps me a lot creating small clips for my Twitter or Insta account.)
Beside music and VFX I love to play old retro games (8bit & 16bit) and watching movies.

Hi, I'm John ...
I decided to start learning this video thing because my oldest kid is turning into a really really good inline vert skater (that's where they drop from the top of a really high ramp and send their parent[s] into cardiac arrest) and I thought it would be cool to try and capture this (as quite a few folks in the skating community do). Unfortunately, this means I actually have to learn something new :) ... I'm rapidly learning that I have an intuitive grasp of video editing akin to making soap in the middle of a bowl of olive oil sigh
I started using the basic video editor on the PC, which I seemed to manage OK, but them decided to try and get better and the interwebz recommended Hitfilm, which I am now trying to learn... already confused :P
In Wellington, NZ.

@Iscariot Welcome to the forum! Feel free to ask questions. Best advice, if you are just starting out with video editing, is to keep it simple. Try not to get to fancy until you have the basic workflow mastered.

Hi Dan here, Manchester CT, just getting started with HitFilm. I've been a long time Camtasia user, which I've used to put together increasingly sophisticated music videos, cellphone/virtual choirs with lots of movement and animations to the extent one can in Camtasia, and other music projects. I've taken a few rudimentary stabs at using HitFilm Express for this kind of work. I think it's going to give me better quality product, more control, better color. It's just going to be a learning curve and a different workflow. These for example:

- I actually got into it during my studies in Multimedia Design and Communication, but I only started doing it more seriously about 3 years ago when I started a YouTube channel. I now have a second channel and really pushing myself to learn HitFilm and up my production value!
- It's really hard to choose a favorite creator... There are just so many that I follow... I suppose I'll just say that I am my favorite! (Hehehe)
- Favorite movie... The Dirty Dozen... What can I say... I'm a child of the 60's and 70's. Favorite TV? None... Haven't watch TV for going on 12 years!

That's about it... My tastes in most things are eclectic to say the least and aside from history, I have no other passions. I look forward to getting to know you all and learning from you.
Cheers!
