Greetings! I'm Al Bouchard, I live in the Detroit area (yay!) and I'm old enough to have dated God's babysitter. <humor/>
I just had another birthday - okay, I'm 64 now - and I try to keep working on stuff. I've been making films since, well, FILM. (Digital manipulation is much easier.)
I try to keep my aspidistra flying, as they say (how long ago was that?) and may be able to build up a reel one of these days.
Cheers!

@AlBouchard Welcome!

I'm totally stealing 'old enough to have dated god's baby sitter'

Hey I am Johnny .... but most people call me Wiew (...long story)
I just rolled into Hitfilm because a friend told maybe me this is my kind of playground ;-) , I should check it out ... so
I am using Express to test it out, if the shoe fits I will buy the Pro version
I am 50yo and a composer/musician for 35 years now, played in a lot of bands , did a lot of gigs , made cd's ... ,
The last 20 years I have a professional recording studio
Filming and editing was no more than a hobby for ....like 25 years.
6 years ago I wrote this Rock Opera , it needed a movie and everything suddenly glued together .
After filming and editing the rock opera, people started to ask me to film and edit their projects.
So now I a have a second job for the last 4 years.
What you see below is all done with Pinnacle Studio Ultimate .the software I worked with all those years
At the end of 2020 I stepped up , I buyed Vegas , Boris , and now I am trying out Hitfim
Small fragments of the Rock opera

@Wiew I just caught a duplicate of your post in the spam queue. Not sure how it got there, but I deleted it. In case you had submitted it twice, please refrain from doing that in the future. If a comment doesn't show right away, just wait for it to be moderated (if necessary) rather than posting a second time.
That aside, welcome! :) You've got some fun stuff on your reel, and I can't wait to see what you create with HitFilm.
-
@CleverTagline Sorry , for the rough start , I posted it wrong the first time
Thank you for the welcome , I watched a lot of tutorials on you tube , I think this can be my new "playground"
-
@Wiew A lot of us in the HitFilm community (myself included) got started with Pinnacle Studio, so you’re in good company!
-
@Wiew Welcome to the HitFilm community! I also used Pinnacle Studio (for several years in fact) before I switched to HitFilm. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. We are a very friendly bunch around here! 😀

I am very happy to using HFE from now on :D
-
Hello, @erickjohnp I'm new around here too (both to hitfilm and to the forum), but I've already found this place to be extremely helpful.
-
@erickjohnp @digitalbaruch Welcome to the community!!
-
@digitalbaruch Glad to have you aboard!
-
@erickjohnp Welcome! Always remember, on the forum, there are no stupid questions, no matter how bad or easy you think it might be, it may be the most difficult thing anyone's ever seen here, so don't hesitate to ask any questions!

Hi, my name is Roger, I am an 2d/3d illustrator/animator, and I am new to Hit Film XP but not new to editing / compositing. I mainly use it for creating animations (mostly image sequences) and I was pleasantly surprised how well it behaved.
Most work I do is for agencies, so nothing to show (NDA) that is recently or worthwhile. I desperately need to update my portfolio... but somehow to busy doing other peoples work :-)
I am from Rotterdam, the Netherlands, so when this pandemic is over, if one of you is in the neighborhood feel free to drop by for a cup of coffee!
-
@canvasmm Welcome to the Forum! Always good to have experienced artists in the crowd. I look forward to see what you can do with HF. Cheers!
-
@canvasmm Hey Roger, welkom op de beste forums 😁

Hi gang, my names Martin and I’m new to the party. Live and (semi) work in Bristol, UK. Have discovered Hitfilm Express as a way of keeping myself sane during lockdown. Learning ‘how to’ from some excellent tutorials on YouTube (hello to Film Sensei and others).
as well as learning how to title, I really want to learn how to incorporate 3D models, such as spaceships into space scenes and scenarios. I’ve tried following the ‘click, click’ click’ YouTube videos, but could do with a more basic tutorial on what the properties mean and how to turn a basic shape into something useable. Can anyone direct me to one?
cheers gang.

@fxhomer263128 Welcome! Do you care if the exported 3d model video has a watermark on it? That is the free way to do it, or you could pay around 40 dollars last I checked and make it with no watermark.
Here are some tutorials:
And if that wasn't too overwhelming, and you want it to look really good, I would recommend watching this Saturday's Live Stream on the @FilmSensei Youtube Channel!

Hello @fxhomer263128 ! Welcome aboard! 😀 ... There are so many tutorials about Hitfilm on Youtube that when I want some effect, I search for "Hitfilm [that effect I want] , see? For example, I went to YouTube and typed "Hitfilm space fleet" and I got this one :

Hello,
Just launched Hitfilm Express - like, literally an hour ago :D Watched a few tutorials on Yotube and I am very excited by what you can do with it. For money, I have a 9 to 5 programming for a marketing company. On my spare time I've been doing music since forever :D Got interested in motion graphics and VFX and 3D-modelling about five years back and while I haven't done anything yet, I like the excitement I get when diving into Fusion, Natron, Blender, OpenFX, I originally started getting into motion graphics to produce something visual for my music projects but everyday it's getting deeper - but it has always been mainly about motion graphics and VFX etc. I have many favorite movies, but let's say Matrix and Star Wars - of TV-series, the original Star Trek and the new one: Discovery, ain't half bad either.
Because any hobby I have, has to have some level of "seriousness" I ocassionally make music for stock libraries and I haven an ongoing project of making royalty-free game music, so working on those next. Needless to say, "what I work on next" to me means waking up tomorrow :D But that's what I will work on in the "multimedia" domain ^_^
