[FEATURE] Grade (Adjustment) layers in the Editor timeline (Added in HF 2021.3/v18)

Useful for color grading multiple clips at once without having to export them into a single video or copy/paste numerous effects onto several clips.

This one is a duh and should have been here on day 1. Editor timeline really needs some work
-
Also nice would be if you could add effects to entire layers. On that way you woudn't need to clutter your timeline with grade-layer boxes. Also you could add certain audio effects onto an entire audio layer like a compressor or limiter. No need to change each audio clip on its own anymore.

this is a total must for color grading! i can't wait for this!
-
this would be so nice to have, i did a black and white film a while back and it took forever to make each clip a composite and then add the grade
-
If Javert hadn't put this up, I would have!! 😁
-
The grade layer is so much useful. I simply makes color grading and effects easier
-
Hitfilm really needs an adjustment layer in the Editor....I have no idea why this wasnt implemented from day one

@Andersen01498 I merged your thread with this older thread requesting the same feature. Make sure you "Vote Up" under Javert's post. 😊
@JavertValbarr I tweaked your headline a bit for those who think in Ae nomenclature.
-
Thanks for merging it because I couldn't find the original post....is there a better way to look for features that people want so I can avoid doing something twice. @Triem23

@Andersen01498 Other than the forum search, I don't have a better idea.
-
Yes please.

This is really needed.
I just purchased Hitfilm Pro 15 after using express and loving everything about the software. However if I'd have known this wasn't a feature I probably would have gone for Premier Pro and After Effects.
Yesterday I finished an hour long edit for a client and having a colour grade layer built into the editor timeline would have saved me so much time.
I still really love Hitfilm but this feels like quite a major missing element.
Cheers eveyone.

Here to give this a bump. Really need this in the editor. It's so much useful in premiere. Having to go back and fourth in composite and editor is just time consuming
-
It would be so much easier if instead of having to copy paste a grade layer, or effects, in composite shots- thus necesitating making a comp shot of every video file grade layers could be used to color correct or color grade. I noticed this feature in Pr and Resolve- compound clips and adjustment layers- and I believe the dev team can whip up this enhancement.
Vote up if you like this and let's hope to see this enhancement in v 16.1. 😀

@Misati_Randy I've merged your thread with this older one making the same request. Make sure to click "Vote Up" under Javert's post at the top of the thread.

can't wait for this feature to be released soon I hope

I was just creating a gaming montage for my friend and created a glitch transition which I made a preset of but I have to apply it to both clips which is annoying. So an addition to this is saving a preset to a grade layer so you can just drag and drop a transition.

IKR tbh this needs to be a new feature now. Im loosing my patience. These elementary things, I have no idea how much it would be on the code end but for artists like us its driving us nuts to not have these things. @jackschoening

This is a game changer in terms of saving time when color correcting. please raise the priority on this roadmap item.
-
The feature is really needed and would be of so much practical use.
-
These extra effects are nice to have but we are losing the must-haves in order to have a functional editor.....Please raise the priority of this....

@Andersen01498 the developers that work on effects are not the same developers that work on fundamental back-end changes like this. Fear not, we are aware of all of the requests here and looking into all of them. Only time will tell what we've got cooking behind the scenes for future updates.

@TheBenNorris we appreciate all your efforts. We just wanna make HitFilm excelling always 👍️
