@GrayMotion I think 39 is the top tier of the Pay-What-You-Want model for Express addons. @TheYoloHD The gurus will need some info on your system to be able to help figure out what might be the issue...CPU, GPU, Ram, OS and hard drive free space and such.
Something like that?
Intel(R) Cor(TM) i5-6200U CPU @ 2.40GHz
Ram = 8GB
free space: 70GB
Sorry you've encountered problems with starting HitFilm Express, in order to help you as soon as possible, could you please submit a ticket (select Technical Support) at the following page:
I would include the specs you've already posted here, but I'd also tell them what graphics card you're using as well. You can usually find this by:
1. Click Start Menu, type "System Information"2. Expand "Components" on the left side and select "Display"3. Either "Name" or "Adapter Description" should give you graphics card details.
@TheYoloHD Yes, something like that helps, I'm sure. I am not a spec wizard though, but from a totally layman, fellow user POV I think 8 GB RAM is a bit low but the recommended amount. You don't mention a GPU so one the gurus will have to look up your system to see what the installed video particulars are. If I read correctly it might be an Intel 520 and I assume under a 600 unless you have a dedicated GPU also. This is what found: https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/88193/intel-core-i5-6200u-processor-3m-cache-up-to-2-80-ghz.html

@CNK @NormanPCN @Stargazer54 Can any of you correct my mistakes here?
My GPU is: NVIDIA Geforce 940MX
@ttdavis I think you covered it. @TheYoloHD please follow through with a support ticket. Your specs look acceptable and you should not be experiencing trouble starting the software.
Thanks. @Stargazer54 i had no clue where that GPU fell in the specs.
I actually have this exact configuration (I’m guessing it’s an Acer Aspire laptop?)
I haven’t had any issues though in the latest version. I have the latest Windows updates and NVIDIA drivers. Happy to provide additional testing if needed.
@tddavis There are multiple different SKU's so it's not certain it's above spec since OEM's like to implement their own solutions sometimes. In any case follow what triforcefx is leaning towards and update your NVIDIA drivers (graphics). Also check if your PC is in some sort of power saving mode, some of them have dials for graphics and are generally on the lower side.
The support staff should be able to help
