Hi, after installing the program, while it was starting, I've seen a banner saying:" Impossible to find acces point" C:\ProgramFiles\FXHOME\HitFilm Express\FXMedia.dll.
What could be the problem? Thank's for the reply!
Hello, I'll C/P a previous comment
Perform a clean uninstall of your driver https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
Install the latest driver like you normally would via respective website which applies to you: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx - https://www.amd.com/en/support
It's a good idea to list your specs, so please do that as well.
Once all is said and done, don't immediately launch HitFilm, to be on the safe side, uninstall it properly via a uninstall manager in Windows ("Add or remove programs"), and then proceed to installing HitFilm again like you normally would.
I suspect the GPU is going to be below spec. I just tried to update my laptop that had run previous versions of HF and got the same error with ver. 14. I imagine the devs have moved on and don't support my board anymore.
@Stargazer54 @MoviexYt specs on your machines?
Lynn, min specs did go up with v13 and, again with 14. Basically, your machine should be 2013 or more recent. Earlier versions supported Nvidia/AMD GPUs back to 2009.
Also, anything Win 7 should expect certain issues. There's one intermittent Win 7 bug known already.
But compare specs for HF2: https://fxhome.com/support/hitfilm-ultimate
HF 2017: https://fxhome.com/support/hitfilm-pro-2017
And HF 14.1: https://fxhome.com/support/hitfilm-express
@Triem23 Yeah, sorry. I should have posted more details. The laptop is a Dell Latitude E6500 with an Nvidia Quadro NVS 160M gpu. The machine dates back to probably 2007. Drivers are all updated and I just upgraded to Win10. Point is, it is the gpu appears to be past its prime to keep up with a current version of HF.
@Stargazer54 wow that card was NEVER in spec! HF2 wanted 512MB of VRAM and that Quadro had 256! Compare to the HF2 min specs (Intel HD 3000) linked above!
That old machine (and that GPU is from 2008) has served you quite well, indeed! Also shows that the HF code is quite solid and stable since it clicked along on an under-spec card for so long.
@Triem23 Yeah that laptop was a trooper (still is). I am still able to run HF 2017 on it. I just thought since I upgraded to Win10 I would try a new HF version.
Which is why I think the OP's error is due to outdated GPU. Same error I got.
@Stargazer54 I have one of those same laptops and 2017 is the first version I could get to even install. (Started with 13 and worked my way backward.) I never have looked to see what GPU it has though. Did yours come with or did install somehow?
@tddavis Yeah the NVS 160M gpu was what came with the laptop. I have not upgraded it except to add ram.
I'll have to check what mine has in it. I upgraded the HDD to a 1TB and doubled the RAM. I don't use very often though.
