Hey! So, recently, I've been looking around for some decent laptops, I've found a few which I don't mind buying, however, I'm not sure if they fit the reqs for Hitfilm 4 Express, so I'll give you the 2 laptops with their specs, if someone could please tell me if any of them would work, also, if you have any other idea for a different laptop, please let me know (Max Price £400 currently)

I really would appreciate some more suggestions no more than £400 if possible please, thanks! Have a great day!

Laptop 2 will not run Hitfilm at all. Hitfilm requires an Intel i3 or higher (or AMD equivalent), and a Pentium is below this. Required specs below, copied from the Express store page.

    • Windows: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit), Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)
    • Internet connection: Required for online activation
    • Processor: Intel Core i3, Core i5, Core i7 or AMD equivalent.
    • RAM: 4GB (8 GB Recommended)
    • Graphics card:
      • NVIDIA GeForce 400 Series (2010)
      • AMD Radeon HD 6000 Series (2010)
      • Intel HD Graphics 4000 (GT2) (2012)
      • Video memory 1 GB minimum (2GB or more recommended for 4K UHD.)

Laptop 1,I'm not certain about. It looks like it might be barely there, but I really don't know AMD hardware. The CPU in Laptop 1 benches slower than an Intel i3 7130U so it's really sitting either below spec or right at minimum.

Hitfilm runs much smoother with a dedicated GPU, and neither laptop you posted has one.

I'm USA, not UK so it's tough for me to browse. Bottom line, I think with your budget you'll have to look at used/older machines a few years old. You'll be better off running an older machine with a higher end (in its time) CPU and a dedicated GPU than a current machine with a low-end processor and no GPU.

@bolob given you have a UK laptop, I'm guessing your here in the uk. I brought an Acer from pcworld fur 399 it's 479 now but sales pop up. It runs Hitfilm, it's no speed demon but that's what you get for your money. I'll dig it the model for u it you like. I found the 1050 cards reasonable.

Side note: you asked about HitFilm 4 Express. HitFilm is waaaay past version 4 at this stage. It's up to version 11 now, and no longer has the version in the name. It's now just HitFilm Express. If you're still using 4 Express, I strongly recommend upgrading.

Yeah I realised that now lol, thanks for everyone's help. I finally got one second hand with an Intel Core i5 7th Gen.

    Thanks!
