Animating first mask-point of an unclosed freehand mask

Hey lovley people
I'm looking for a way to animate the path for first point of an unclosed freehand mask.
Keyframing the path of the waypoints works for all but the first waypoint as it closes the mask whenever i click on it. Is there an easy way to not close the mask but drag the point?
