Hello everyone,
Just wanted to share a before and after still from a movie I'm working on feel free to tell me what you think

(hopefully this link works XD)
Steps taken to achieve affect:
-Reduce background grading color
-Mask left hill to create wider photo
-Lens Flare for sun
-Distortion on grass for movement
-Diffuse valley opening
-Fractal clouds
-Luma key actors
-Color match
-Chair and body shadows
-Keyframe exposure

That's a solid composite, and a very pretty shot. I caught one fairly obvious double-clone flower bush at the base of the mountains, but, since you asked for opinion I looked pretty closely. In context and in motion I don't think it will stand out. Great work!
-
Thanks Triem XD
What bush!? lol. Tell me so I can fix it lol
-
Just to the left of the girl's shoulders. The two bushes at the blend line of the video plate and the mountain. The instance to the left is partially hidden by the mask, so you'd probably have to really look to spot it in context.
-
OH! lol I think those are rocks...
...
... OH SHaaaatT yes, that is where my mask clone shows ROFL. [email protected] you're sharp lol.
I think I just might leave that in there as homage to you XD
-
@twhitworth Very nicely done, indeed. My eyes are far older than Triem's, the only thing that I noticed, aside from the vibrant colorful replacement, was the neat lens ring/rainbow effect you added right at the feet of the dude on the right. Looks great!
-
Thanks @tddavis !
That ring was a happy accident of the yellow flare in the upper left. This scene takes place in a dream so I decided not to be too realistic with some of the lighting.
-
@twhitworth I forgot to mention that I immediately thought of the movie What Dreams May Come so mission accomplished on the dream sequence feel.
-
XD that's nuts! lol, one of the directors on the movie told me i should use that movie for inspiration. Loved that movie btw
-
Great work.
-
Thanks @Andy001z !
-
I'd agree with @tddavis. There is a feel of "What Dreams May Come" here. If that was something you studied for reference, then you obviously did it right.
As I said earlier, I only caught the clone because you asked for feedback, which put me in "critic mode. " If you leave it, I'll raise a glass mentally (Insert "Great Gatsby" GIF), but I still think most others will never see it.
-
XD I'm totally leaving it lol
-
Wow! Really impressive work @twhitworth
-
Thanks @OliThompson !
This is the first time I've shown this to the film community. Other people seemed to like it but I can get away with a lot through their eyes.
-
Love it! Can't wait to see more!
-
Thanks @jsbarret !
Once I'm done working on the effect from the tutorial that Triem Visuals did today I'll share that here:

That's impressive. To touch on @triem23 's comment a bit, here:

It's not a big deal, it's a still frame of probably 3-5 seconds of video following. I really like what you've done, and I can't wait to see more. I love this kind of stuff. You're much better than I am that's for sure!
-
Yes @CNK
XD that's where all the masking went down. Photo wasn't big enough lol. and I didn't want to zoom in so much as to flatten the image making it look closer and more cluttered.
It's crazy that I hadn't even bothered to notice that myself lol.
Don't worry, much better people than me is the reason I am where I am. Definitely appreciate all the guru's that keep producing tutorials and advice for us.
