What do you thing about this 3D scene?
What do you think about this scene made up in hitfilm pro?
It's not finished yet, but ...

@4KMAX I like the cloud flythrough. Ship looks good but it was too fast for me to get a good look at it. I presume in the finished version we'll get to see it from other angles and such. Don't know if it can be done (and I most certainly couldn't) but it would look interesting if the ship passing through created vortexes in the clouds or someway interacted with them.

I would like to see some booster engine action
-
At the beginning, it looks like the ship is starting to move through the clouds. After about a second, though, it just feels like it's just moving in a layer above the clouds, not going through them.

@tddavis; Yes, i am working with different angles, this was only a first try.
@Andersen01498: I am trying to make some booster engine action, I am making it with the fire dragon effect, but it is not realistic...
@jsbarrett: You are right, I am solving it...
Thank you all for your feedback, I have only one question. How can I make the space ship interact with the clouds?
-
Question. Which version of Pro. I'll assume Pro 2017 or the new v7, but I want to be certain because those have options not in earlier versions.
By interacting, do you just mean being properly occluded by clouds as it recedes, or are you trying for things like vapor trails and clouds breaking? One is really easy, the other... Well, we can give you starter hints, but you'll just have to get down and dirty experimenting with the particle sim.

@4KMAX set the layers to 3d unrolled
-
@Triem23; I'm using hitfilm pro new v7. I thing that for a 2nd try, it is better to use option one: being properly occluded by clouds as it recedes.
@JMcAllister: Layers are actually in the 3D unrolled mode. But, what can 3D unrolled do for this scene?
-
@Triem23; But how can I do it?....... How can I make the space ship be properly occluded by clouds as it recedes...

nice.

I think what you did improved things. Looks like you increased particle count?
Anyways, once you're in 3D Unrolled particles are already occluded correctly, so it's just about tweaking 3D layer positioning and particle counts.

Nice work!!
I like the clouds, trails and the movement of the ship very much,
If I'd comment on something would be on the exhaust/engine/fire!
on the back of the ship. Of course it probably runs on some alien technology that doesn't spit out flames...
-
Thanks a lot for all your feedback!
The fire engine is a difficult thing, I don´t know how to do it... Does someone know how to do a fire engine???
-
@Triem23;No, I did not increase the particle amount, I had 2 layers of clouds, one was behind the space ship and the other in front of the space ship. The only thing I did with the clouds was increasing the opacity of the "in front" layer. Then I added the gas going out of the spacehip and switch the layers to 3D unrolled.
