@FilmSensei I can't get a second to watch it here right now, but the thumbnail looks really interesting!
-
@tddavis Thanks for being a Patreon Supporter. I really appreciate it! Remember, don't share it with anyone... it will release to the general public tomorrow at 9:00 am EST.
-
Oh, never. Besides I don't do the socials anyway😁 no sharing from me!

It was way easier than I thought it would be from the thumbnail. I would never have thought to do in the first place though.
-
Pretty slick, Jay!

Check out my newest #Hitfilm tutorial... How to Use the PIN Feature. Trust me, you WANT to know how to use the PIN Feature!
-
Yup, great tip. Tough to beat for "best tip of 2021," and it's still Feb!
-
Wow! That's going to be incredibly useful...
My question now is, has no one clicked that button since the feature was added? How has it never been mentioned in a video before?
-
@ZachAlan Prior to V15 the pin didn't hold the Controls panel if you went into another composite shot, so it was less useful than it is now.
Nice video Jay!
-
@ZachAlan knew it was there (works in the SAME comp, of course), but didn't know it worked when in another timeline as @JavertValbarr just kindly told us.
-
Thanks for clearing that up haha. I don't think I've ever actually used even the original pin feature. Something I'll definitely have to add to my workflow.
-
Brilliant video! The pin never used to work as I thought it should, and thought it needed this nice upgrade, glad people will hopefully finally start using it!
-
@FilmSensei Holy crap Jay! Great tip!
I loved the timing of your edit. Right when I am saying to myself "Whaaaat!?", you cut to You looking over your glasses at us simpletons. Brilliant on all fronts!
-
Nice!

Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
-
Great! This is very useful

@TheBenNorris oh, I think it's about to get used...
Just last night I started setting up a space scene using a 360-wrap starfield. Since the starfield also has nebula, and will be casting diffuse reflection the map needs to be embedded and adjusted with a 360-degree transform (so my basic 'flight path" can go right down Z instead of at an angle). As I said to Sensei on YouTube (I wish this had come out 16 hours ago). Well... I'm about to change the BG nebula, so I'll be pinning it for adjustment in just a little while.
I remember the initial version of the pin, but hadn't found TOO many uses in the same comp. Embedded? Way more useful.
Jay, there's a Feature Request thread about being able to see two different Comps in the Viewer (to adjust a nest while seeing changes in the "main." I'm gonna find that and link your video there as the pin does partially address that request.
-
Dang...I've completely overlooked that pin for ages. Haven't even touched it. Thanks for the wake-up call, Jay! 👍
