Theres a reverse effect in hitfilm and you can either set the frame rate to 24 down from 60 or use the speed effect. but if your using the speed effect you will need to comp your footage then clip the end

The Temporal folder in the Effects panel contains all of the effects for adjusting the timing of a clip, as the name would imply.  To alter the speed, use the Speed effect, using values between 0 and 1 for slow motion, and values above 1 for fast motion.  To play a clip backwards, use the Time Reverse effect.
If you wish to keyframe the speed of a clip over time, perhaps moving from forward to reverse and back to forward, or something of that sort, then you can use the Speed effect, keeping in mind that values below 0 will move into reverse motion.

Are there plans for a better way to alter speed other than the Temporal effects. If I remember correctly, when you apply these effects, the length of the clip doesn't actually change. The speed change ends up being an illusion rather than actually changing the speed of the clip. I could be wrong though.
