[Answered] HitFilm Express 2017 Activation
in Hitfilm express 2017, i follow the steps of going into the option>Activation and then i have the tab open with the three options of "activate and unlock", i press it, and the box just closes. doesnt re direct anywhere. it only happens when I press the "Activate & Unlock" button, the other two will re direct me to their respectful links.
Im i just being stupid, or is my hitfilm express 2017 not working right?

The same thing is happening to me is there any way to fix it.
also having the same problem, trying to export a video. I am hoping this software is actually free
Hitfilm Express actually is free.
it is actually free, but the activation isn't working correct making people worried about its actual validity.
As Norman says, Express really is free. There can be problems with the activation app sometimes, these are typically caused by underlying issues on the operating system.
If you are on Windows, this problem may be caused by corruption to Winsock2. You can try the following fix. These instructions are for Windows 10.
1) Go to your desktop and press Windows + X key combo
2) From the popup menu that appears near the start button click the "Command prompt (admin)" option
3) Type "netsh winsock reset" into the box that appears (without the quotes)
4) Press enter. You should see a message that says "Successfully reset the Winsock Catalog."
5) Reboot your computer
6) Now the activation app should appear normally
If this fix doesn't work, or you're using a Mac, please contact us in support. We'll need to know your system specs (GPU, CPU, RAM, OS), and as much detail as you can provide.

@KelvinMachariaWhat are your system specs? OS, CPU, GPU, RAM, and free hard drive space. Which specific version of HitFilm are you using?

This issue and your issue are not the same issue. Activation errors happen for any number of reasons, usually because of a change to Windows or any number of other possibilities. I would imagine that it is RARELY FXHome's fault when these errors occur. When they do, they try to fix them as promptly as possible. They have already patched this for the next version of Express.
Also, please don't bump old threads.
@VFLCLANEditorR6 please stop posting to multiple threads, especially ones that are almost a year old and solved. It is preferred that if you have a problem that you create a new ticket.
