Why does YouTube 1080p HD, etc. look better than Uncompressed AVI?

Hi Guys,

When I export to Uncompressed AVI, effects such as the Blue Plasma Shockwave look washed out, no details in the colors.  Almost like a lower bit level.  However, I'm using 16-bits.

When I use YouTube 1080p HD as the export, my colors, etc. look fine and match what I see in the Viewer.

Why wouldn't Uncompressed AVI be the best export for use in other applications, etc.?
