.MOV Media file help...
Good Day.
I am shooting my videos using a DSLR and it's Output file is (.Mov)
When i import it on HF its preview is a bit Laggy.
Is there any way i can correct this concern, or i just always convert my file into MPEG4 (which is a hassle)
I'm using a Nikon D3300 by the way.
Thanks Guys

Ok, first, your DSLR's MOV file is just MPEG4 in a QT wrapper. You can actually rename the MOV to MPG and possibly get a faster playback since that will bypass the slow QT framework.
That said, MP4 is not a good editing codec for reason I shan't get into here. Also, Hitfilm isn't the fastest NLE around for basic decode/playback (although it's faster than most of the competition at complex compositing). It's still usually a good idea to transcode your footage into something else.
Either of these threads will have much more information.
