Hi,

I've read that the HF express from windows cannot export to .mov format in the below discussion, even if we buy premium formats.

https://hitfilm.com/forum/discussion/43076/cant-export-file#latest

i'd like to understand, if HF pro in windows system exports to .mov format?

Thanks.

You cannot export to Quicktime in any Windows version of Hitfilm. Hitfilm can import Quicktime files.

On the other hand, Windows Hitfilm Pro can export to Cineform, which the Mac version cannot.

You can add Quicktime export from Windows to the wishlist thread, but the chances of it happening are about 0.00%. Quicktime is a dead format which hasn't been updated for Windows since 2011 or Mac since 2013. It lingers only because of the amount of DSLRs that use QT as a wrapper for h.264. Additionally, Quicktime is a licensed codec on Windows for commercial software (Hitfilm is commercial software) , which would add to the purchase price of the software.

There are open source programs that can convert other codecs to Quicktime (MPEG Streamclip, among others). Note that Cineform export does allow for 32-bit exports if you need an Alpha channel.

You're welcome. Sorry it wasn't the answer you were hoping for.
